Paying yourself as a business owner should be pretty simple, right? I mean, it IS your business and it IS your money, right?
Well, that really depends on quite a few things. Like the legal structure and if you want your accountant to yell at you or not.
As I’m sure you know by now, I’m an accountant so I’ve done my fair share of bootstrapping and looking for frugal ways to get stuff done…
WITHOUT cutting corners when it comes to quality.
A lot of times when we are making an effort to simplify our lives and build our team… we can’t seem to think of the things that our team members can do.
This can be especially hard when we are so used to doing everything ourselves.
Sometimes plans go off course. We plan to focus. We plan to market. We plan and we budget.
We plan to do a lot of things but sometime the best laid plans fail.
When that happens, you come up with a new plan, a new focus, a new goal.
That, of course, leads to a new budget or a ‘reforecast’ of an old one.
Goals and budgets are important.
I don’t know about you but several times a year, every quarter or so, I begin to contemplate successes, learning lessons and bends in the road…and start thinking about and planning for what’s next for me and my business.
